The International Exchanges scheme offers a flexible platform for UK based scientists to interact with the best scientists around the World. This scheme is aimed at stimulating new collaborations with leading scientists overseas through either a one-off visit or bilateral travel. The International Exchanges Committee considers applications for one-off visits or bilateral travel to facilitate the development of new and emerging collaborations with overseas scientists. The Royal Society also partners with international bodies to co-fund International Exchanges awards through a Cost Share scheme.

As part of the International Exchanges, the Society offers additional funding through its Kan Tong Po Fellowships which has been made possible through the generosity of the family of the late Mr Kan Tong Po.

The JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowships is also assessed by the International Exchanges panel. The scheme which is funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), provides the opportunity for highly qualified early career researchers to conduct cooperative research with leading research groups in universities and other Japanese institutions.

Dr. Dhimish, as a member of the International Exchanges Committee, is responsible for reviewing over 45 proposals each year for this funding opportunity. He conducts thorough evaluations and prepares detailed reports for the panel to aid in funding decisions.
